According to the letter from Department of Education dated 12 February 2010, the Genealogy Collection is not part of the “core collection” that will be maintained. Then a carrot stating the commitment to ensure the stewardship of the Genealogy Collection “but outside of state government”. Oh, and the part of maybe the collection could be managed in its current location is right up there with the Tooth Fairy Myth.

I believe that they want the room for something else and are willing to tear apart a collection that they had no share in building.
